Handmade Moroccan lantern from Fes constructed from pierced brass panels set with coloured glass inserts.
Of octagonal form with domed pierced crown and geometric Moorish decoration.
Produced by a traditional metalworking workshop in the medina of Fes.
Made some years ago and retained in storage after the workshop ceased production, forming part of a small remaining group. This is the larger of the three, designed to be suspended.
Natural variation and signs of age consistent with traditional hand production.
