An antique African figure, hand-carved from a single piece of hardwood with an elongated form and stylised features.
The figure has a dark, aged surface with visible variation throughout, alongside marks and wear from age and handling. The carving is simple and expressive, with angular limbs and defined facial features.
There is an old repair to one of the legs at the hip, which appears stable and is clearly shown in the photographs. Further knocks, marks and surface wear are present throughout.
