A large 19th-century Hungarian earthenware jug with hand-painted floral decoration.
The jug has a pale yellow glazed ground decorated with large cobalt-blue flowers, orange centres and green leaves. A single loop handle sits to the rear, with a turned collar rim and simple incised detailing around the shoulder.
There is considerable glaze loss around the lower body, exposing the terracotta beneath, alongside further marks and wear from age. Despite the losses, the strength of the original decoration remains and the scale makes it a particularly good display piece.
