Antique carved wooden pedestal base with its original painted finish, showing layers of warm ochre, brown and traces of pale blue beneath. The shaped profile and moulded detailing give it a strong architectural look, making it equally suited as a decorative object or as a display stand for a sculpture, bust, pot or lamp.
The surface has developed naturally over time and retains plenty of character. There is age-related wear throughout, including old cracks, chips, paint loss and surface marks, all of which are consistent with its age.
