A near pair of Swat Valley pidha chairs dating to the mid 19th century, each richly carved by hand with floral and geometric motifs throughout the back panels and supports. The dark timber has developed a deep, soft patina with age, highlighting the detail of the carving and the wear from use over time.
Both chairs retain their original woven leather and rattan seats, with turned finials and bobbin legs giving them a strong architectural silhouette. The slight differences between the two only add to their character.
Unusually decorative pieces that work equally well as occasional chairs or sculptural accent pieces.
