A large vintage handwoven basket from Southeast Asia, made from finely split bamboo with a tightly woven herringbone construction and bound rim.
The basket has a broad, rounded form and a deep natural brown colour developed through age and use. Originally a practical household piece, its generous proportions make it useful today for storage, textiles or simply as a decorative object.
There is age-related wear to the weave and one small loop to the side is broken, as pictured. Otherwise structurally sound and displaying well.
