A large vintage handwoven basket from Southeast Asia, made from finely split bamboo with a substantial bound rim.
The basket has a simple rounded form and tightly worked herringbone weave, with variations in colour and texture from age and use. Originally made as a practical household basket, it is a useful size for storing textiles, magazines or other everyday pieces.
In good vintage condition with some wear and small irregularities to the weave consistent with age and handmade construction.
