A significant 19th Century Moroccan tribal bowl, hand-carved from solid walnut with an exceptional aged patina and original iron repair.
Originating from the High Atlas region, this large scale 'Tazawat' (food vessel) featured hand-forged iron hardware used to reinforce the wood - a traditional technique that adds wonderful character and structural integrity.
A powerful example of North African folk art with impressive scale. In authenitc condition, showing deep honey-toned grain and historical field repairs.
